Several weeks ago, Laurin from Laurin and Kelly Talk tagged me on a meme about quirkiness.  I have been thinking and thinking about this.  It’s actually hard to think of quirks about yourself without wanting to drive yourself to the nearest mental institution!   I kept thinking, “If only I could list other people’s quirks, I could have had this done in no time!!”

Here are the rules of the meme:

1. Link the person who tagged you.
2. Mention the rules on your blog.
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours.
4. Tag 6 following bloggers by linking them.
5. Leave a comment on each of the tagged bloggers letting them know they’ve been tagged.

QUIRKS

1. Every morning when I wake up I must look out the front windows! My day can’t start off on the right foot without this.  I look up and down the street (from what I can see through the window, anyway), check on our cars, and make sure everything in the neighborhood is okay.  We do live in a very nice neighborhood but after reading this you may think we live in seedy section of town!

2. I cannot let emails sit in my inbox or my deleted items box.  After I have read them they need to go.  This bit me in the butt last night when my neighbor needed an email from me that went out around 3 days ago. It wasn’t in my inbox so I did a quick check on my deleted items box.  DARN…empty!

3. I always think people are talking about me when I leave a room.  And not an “Oh we love her!” type of thing.  More like an “Ugh, who invited her!?” type of thing.

4. I’m stealing this one from a previous post, but I have to order cheese ravioli when I eat at an Italian restaurant.  There is no branching out!

5. I like sauerkraut.

6.I love little old people (like Joe Paterno.) I just want to squeeze them and take them home with me!

So there you have it.  If anyone needs me, I’ll be in a padded room somewhere.

I’m not tagging anyone so if you read this and feel the need, share your quirks with us.  Go ahead, I dare ya!

By the way, over at Laurin and Kelly Talk, they are hosting a great giveaway on barrettes.  If any of you have a daughter with fine hair, which is what my Kiki was blessed with, these are the perfect solution.  Go on over and check it out!

It’s All About Me

This morning I was minding my own business, catching up on my blog reading, when I noticed that my friend Tammy from over at Greek GRITS tagged me for a meme.  Of course it is not just a simple one, it’s one that makes you think!  Nonetheless, I accept the challenge.  Thank you Tammy for thinking of me; I’m truly flattered!

Here are the rules:

1. Write about 5 specific ways blogging has affected you, either positively or negatively.
2. link back to the person who tagged you
3. link back to this parent post
4. tag a few friends or five, or none at all
5. post these rules— or just have fun breaking them

1. I started blogging back in June as a way to keep my family up-to-date on the shenanigans of this household.  Between my husband and I, we have family spread out all over these United States.  I am horrible at writing letters, or thank-you notes for that matter, and I figured this would be a great way to keep in touch with everyone.

2. Blogging has forced me to take more pictures of the family.  I am a slacker when it comes to picture taking.  With the digital age, my pictures would stay frozen on a card never to be seen by anyone.  Now I am very much conscious of taking a camera with me and uploading the photos because, let’s face it, you just never know when blog material could occur!  I have captured more memories with my camera in these past 4 months then I have in years!

3. I have “met” so many wonderful people in this blogging world.  I find myself looking forward to seeing if the blogs I subscribe to have been updated so I can catch up with what is going on in their lives.  While I have never met most of these people face to face, I think if I did it would be like visiting an old friend. And I love to hear from new people.  If someone leaves a comment and they write a blog I have never been to before, I like to head right on over to check them out.

Okay, so there were 3 positive things.  Now here are 2 somewhat negative things.

4. I get so engrossed in this whole blogging thing, whether it be publishing a new post or reading others, that I tend to let things slide lately.  But I’m chalking this up to the “newness” of it all.

5. I have noticed that I stop telling my family that lives locally about things because I post it instead.  My dad once commented that if he wants to know stuff now he needs to read my blog. Oops!! So now I try to call them first before I post about it!  Again, I think that has to do with the newness of this.

Well this was fun! I could be nice and say if you want to play along feel free.  You know what, I will say that, right after I tag a few people first!
