Black Coat, Red Boots
I have been absent from my blog for several weeks. I really feel like I have run out of things to say lately. Nothing too exciting has been going on here. But exciting things are coming up, like a trip to Las Vegas in a few weeks! So I should be back in writing mode soon…I hope!!
Saturday night my husband and I went out with friends. We hit up a local town and had a blast! Around midnight we decided to call it a night. While we were walking to the car, a woman passed us. Nothing big about that fact except she had on a patent leather coat that came down to her knees and bright red boots. My friend elbowed me to bring my attention to this passerby.
Apparently, when I responded with “What the heck is that?,” I didn’t have the six-inch voice I thought I did. The woman passing us turned around to me and replied (with some attitude I might add), “Black coat, red boots.” And with that she did a runway walk down the street. Needless to say, we were in hysterics! My friend had to sit down on the sidewalk and take a breather!
Looking back, I wonder how she knew I was talking about her. My simple (yet loud) statement could have been referencing several things. She was right-on in her assumption that I was indeed talking about her, but its a little presumptuous of her, don’t ya think?
As we continued on our way to the car, we watched as she got into a police car that was waiting for her in the parking lot. Very, very strange!
I have to admit that I kind of liked the self confidence that she exuded. Her fashion was questionable, her mode of transportation suspect, but she truly believed she was stellar and it poured out of her. So kudos to my “black coat red boots” passerby! I will have to try to muster up some of that confidence for myself. But somehow I don’t think “blue robe, pink slippers” has the same affect!

That is funny. How random and strong of her. I wish I had her confidence too.

This is the funniest thing you’ve ever written. I’m glad you’re back.

Missed you but totally understand hwo life can get in the way of blogging!!
I too have made “shoot from the hip” comments/judgments that may certainly have been without any concrete basis…and regretted it…but I think these moments are a “you don’t have to walk in my shoes” awakening…our hearts need to be tender toward those whose lives are different from ours!

I missed you, but I think we all get in a slump right before Spring.
I wonder if she was an undercover paid lover!!
It’s hard to tell the difference between the cops and the real thing sometimes!

OMG, that is hillarious - I might have peed my pants! Maybe she was under-cover? Either way that CRACKS me up!

Power calls attention to itself. At least she was empowered by it!!
Sounds like a pd to me!
